Without fail, when we are in The Cotswolds, our trip isn’t complete without visiting one of our must-see destinations of Daylesford Organic. While the brand has some charming stores in London, it is their countryside outpost where the brand really shines.
Founded by Carole Bamford, Daylesford Organic set out to reclaim a more intuitive way of eating, growing and living driven by the seasons. The shop in The Cotswolds is compromised of a nursery, an extensive farmshop, multiple restaurants and even a spa (as Carole is also the founder of Bamford spas). They also host events and are home to a Cookery school.
The farmshop is where you’ll find us though. It is a treasure trove of souvenir hunting and a true countryside retreat to browse and enjoy. You’ll find pantry staples to indulgent treats for special occasions. We are particularly fond of their Cotswolds Honey, the seasonal curds, tea, seasonal creations and their jams.
The candles and dishware and housewares are also lovely to browse and attempt to bring home if you dare. Have little ones in tow? Don’t miss the upstairs level where there are some charming little toys for the kids.
Staying nearby and have access to a kitchen? There’s everything you’ll need for a delicious meal - artisan bread made in their own bakery, award-winning cheese from their Creamery and even fresh organic meat from their pastures.
There is truly something for everyone. And while we didn’t enjoy the meal we had on-site in the past at one of the restaurants, in the future we’ll give it another chance.
Before you visit be sure to see what’s on in terms of family day experiences, special seasonal events and a variety of hosted workshops.
